1:72 Scale "Grumman Hellcat" by Machbox, I particularly do not like this Plane, my old man would Purchase a bunch of this model before Christmas for giveaway in case some unknown Godson would pop-out at our house during Christmas day, this is one of the leftovers. After the holiday season I would roughly build this surplus kits from time to time for the purpose of destroying them with firecrackers later. This one was probably save from obliteration because I ran out of firecrakers :-) lol!

This piece was is in very Bad condition when i found it a couple of years ago, one of the landing gear assembly was scratch built from shoe rubber and expired ATM cards ... and of course model cements.

It is said by some Military aviation web pages that the HELLCAT was purposely created to deal with the Japanese "Zero" fighter. At the start of the Pacific's World War II hostilities most American Fighters are considered an inferior Match to Japanese primary fighters, The Hellcat with its robust construction and bigger engine is meant to overcome the Zero's feared high rate of climb. Japanese aces underestimated the performance of the hellcat when they first encountered it in battle, mainly because the New American Plane has a close resemblance to the 'F4F Wildcat" which was most of the time easily dealt with by the Zero during the early phases of the Japanese aggression in the Pacific.
