This is my late brother's Plane, a 1/72 scale "Skyhawk" humpback version (Machbox), he rarely build his kits alone or without my assistance I will do the more complicated assembly like the landing gears and cockpits while he took care the bigger parts like wings , fuselage and almost always the decals. We don't paint our kits during those days, this is the first one he had along with my F4u-Corsair, it is the only one remaining of his lot that still has some fairly complete parts. My younger collected up to about six aircraft model kits until ... he discovered "Lego".
The A4 skyhawk despite its "jetty" look is an aircraft designed with ground attack as its primary mission, however it should be able to elude interception with minimal or no fighter escort as much as possible. Its compact size and short span triangular wings makes it ideal as a Carrier based aircraft. Still in use today by many western-block countries the earliest version was introduced in service during the early fifties.
