knew very little about the "Boeing P-12" Airplane, I'm not into Biplanes early on this hobby, this kit was built because my younger brother(RIP) bought and built a biplane kit and though that I also must have at least one biplane in my collection.
They said Biplanes are preferred than monoplanes during the early days of aviation because based on the available building techniques and materials of that era, a biplanes offers more rigidity and strenght than a monoplane of that period. kiddingly, its probably true in the case of this particular model, this kit survived a dis-organized toy box for more than 30 years with very little damage or missing parts.
The P-12 could be the Air Forces transition Plane from Wood and fabric Biplane-Triplane fighters to the steel monoplane fighters that started to appear on the mid 1930's. Wikipedia listed the Philippines Army Air Corps (PAAC) as one of the users of this Aircraft; but I have not yet seen a photo of this plane with PAAC Markings either on books or online. I don't think it ever saw combat during World War I and its probably too obsolete to use by the onset of World War II.
